This week Mazda sent me a top of the line 2024 CX-30 Turbo AWD SUV to test drive and review. The base window sticker price for this Premium Plus Edition is $36,800. The only option on the SUV is the rear stainless bumper guard for $135. The manufactures suggested retail price (MSRP) including the $1,375 delivery charge, is: $38,310.

After adding in the state and local sales tax, plus the DMV and dealers fees, the out the door and in your garage total purchase price came to: $43,099. At $43 Grand and change for this CX-30 Turbo Premium Plus SUV, that’s over $4,800 LESS than the average sales transaction price of $47,900. The CX-30 gives you a lot of SUV for much less money.

Power for this Premium Plus model comes from a 2.5L (liter) turbo 4 cylinder gas engine with 227 HP (horsepower) and 310 lb-ft of torque, bolted to a 6 speed automatic transmission with sport mode select. Stability is handled by an all wheel drive (AWD) traction control system, in sync with an intelligent dynamic automatic braking system.

Exterior features start with a set of 18″ black alloy wheels with P215/55 R18 tires, LED headlights, LED taillights, LED daytime running lights, adaptive front lighting, front and rear signature lighting, a glossy black front grill, a black rear roof top spoiler, silver roof rails and signature TURBO and AWD badges. The CX-30 stands out from the crowd.

Interior upgrades include: leather trimmed seats, heated front seats, a power driver’s seat with power lumbar support and 2 position memory, a 60/40 split fold down rear seat, keyless entry, push button start, an electronic parking brake, a rear view monitor, a heated leather steering wheel, a leather wrapped shift knob, paddle shifters, a frameless automatic dimming rear view mirror, illuminated vanity mirrors and an overhead center console with a glasses holder. Everything you would want in a great SUV for less cash.

The safety and security list highlights are: 24 hour roadside assistance, an anti-theft immobilizer, high beam control, driver attention alert, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, radar cruise control, blind spot monitoring alert, rear cross traffic alert, G-vectoring control plus with active AWD, auto on and off headlights, rain sensing wipers, traffic sign recognition, heated sign view mirrors, and a rear mounted shark fin antenna.
