San Mateo: Super Duper Burgers is opening a second Peninsula restaurant

San Francisco’s Super Duper Burgers chain is expanding to San Mateo.

The new restaurant officially opens to the public on Tuesday, May 21, and the first 50 customers in line will receive a free burger.

This will be the 16th location since the company’s founding in 2010 — but only the second on the Peninsula. (The other is at Serramonte.)

The popular pickles are house-made, free and located right where diners can help themselves. Garlic fries are tossed with fresh garlic and cheddar aged for six months.

Seasonal specials include a Bacon Gouda Burger of Brandt Farms beef, topped with spicy chipotle aioli, and a Blueberry Milkshake with fresh blueberries and topped with blueberry muffin crumbs.

Super Duper features organic Straus Creamery soft-serve ice cream in its milkshakes and cones. (Insider tip: Adults who want to indulge just a little may order a kid size shake.) Beverage menu highlights include freshly squeezed lemonade sweetened with brown sugar, organic iced tea made fresh daily and an Arnold Palmer combination of the two.
