OAKLAND — A 31-year-old man shot Friday night in East Oakland has died, authorities said Tuesday.
The name of the man, an Oakland resident who died Monday afternoon at a hospital, was not immediately released pending notification of his family.
A 32-year-old San Leandro man who was also wounded in the shooting remained in stable condition.
Police have not confirmed a motive yet and no arrests have been made. Investigators believe the men were the intended targets.
The shooting happened about 10:16 p.m. Friday near the intersection of 89th Avenue and D Street.
Police said the two men, who know each other, were together outside when at least one shooter opened fire on them.
The killing is the 31st homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 39 homicides in the city.
