The incident happened around 7:45 p.m. at Skyline High School, located at 12250 Skyline Blvd., Oakland police Lt. Robert Trevino told reporters gathered at the scene.

Trevino said officers arrived to find a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to area hospitals, where they were listed in stable condition Thursday night.

A third victim reportedly arrived at an area hospital, according to Oakland Fire Department spokesperson Michael Hunt.

Trevino said the shooting happened inside the school and appeared to follow some kind of dispute.

A description of the suspects was not available Thursday night.

“We do know there were multiple suspects,” Trevino said, “but we’re trying to identify exactly how many.”

A student told ABC7 News he heard gunshots while taking photos with his friends. He said people started running but were then escorted off the school’s field into the locker room.
