Months-long Los Altos death investigation comes to a close

Officers were called to a home in the 200 block of Shadow Dance Drive around 11:45 a.m. Thursday for a report of suspicious circumstances, San Jose police Officer Tanya Hernandez said in a news release. They arrived to find a woman who was unconscious and not breathing.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release her identity once it is confirmed and her next of kin is notified.

The death marked the city’s 14th homicide of the year. San Jose police had investigated 11 homicides at this time last year.

The woman’s adult son, identified as Roger Le, was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose. Hernandez said Le will be charged with murder.

The motive and circumstances surrounding the homicide are under investigation, Hernandez said.
