Jennifer Lopez has decided to cancel her upcoming tour and focus on family this summer amid reports of marital issues with Ben Affleck.
Jenny from the Block’s “THIS IS ME…LIVE” tour, which was scheduled to begin in June and continue through mid-August, has been called off completely, including two shows at Madison Square Garden.
Live Nation revealed the reason for the swift pivot is so the singer can “[take] time off to be with her children, family and close friends.”
The “I’m Real” artist hopped on her website, OntheJLo, to address the cancellation herself, writing: “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.”
“I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again,” she adds. “I love you all so much. Until next time…”
Live Nation says fans who purchased tickets to the summer concert through Ticketmaster will be fully refunded automatically. Those who purchased a ticket through a third-party site, such as StubHub or Vivid Seats, will need to contact them directly to get their money back.
While Lopez didn’t explain her decision any further, reports of low ticket sales resulting in canceled tour dates were reportedly not the main factor in this decision, but rather happenings in her personal life.
Lopez and her husband, Ben Affleck, have dominated headlines the past few weeks with reports of a marital rift between the superstar couple. Affleck moved out of the $60 million Beverly Hills mansion they bought together and the pair are now living separately, according to several reports.
The Daily News spoke to sources earlier this month who said J.Lo “suggested they move to New York to see if leaving Los Angeles would be helpful.” But, the insider explained the idea was nixed because “his kids are still in school and her twins have a year to go to finish high school.”
Neither Lopez nor Affleck has addressed reports of their marriage issues publicly.
