OAKLAND — Police here have identified the driver of a Toyota Corolla who was killed in a two-car collision last April.
Ricardo Solis, 23, died days after the April 14 crash, which occurred on Interstate 580 near Harrison Avenue in Oakland, authorities said. The crash took place around 3:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes.
Solis was driving the Toyota, which collided with a Chevrolet Malibu. Authorities say the driver of the Chevrolet stayed at the scene and provided a statement saying he was doing the speed limit and didn’t noticed the Toyota until it was too late.
After being struck by the Chevrolet, Solis’ Toyota Corolla crashed into a Toyota Tacoma and was smashed on both ends, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
