San Jose: Motorcyclist killed in crash on The Alameda

SAN JOSE — A motorcyclist died in a collision with another vehicle early Monday on The Alameda near the San Jose-Santa Clara border, police said.

The crash was reported at 6:36 a.m. on the thoroughfare where it crosses Newhall Street, according to San Jose police.

The collision marked the 22nd roadway death of the year investigated by San Jose police, and the second reported Monday. Police said a man died in a single-car crash on the other side of the city at Santa Teresa Boulevard and Bailey Avenue, about two hours after the incident on The Alameda.
