OAKLAND — A 35-year-old man was fatally shot Tuesday morning in the Eastlake district, authorities said.
His name was not immediately released pending notification of his family.
The shooting happened about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of 13th Avenue.
Before police got to the scene, the man had been driven by another person to a hospital, where he later died.

Several shell casings were found in the area of the shooting.
Police have not released a motive for the killing. No arrests were announced.
The killing is the 45th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year and the third since Sunday evening. Last year at this time police had investigated 52 homicides in the city.
