Hayward man found shot and killed early New Year’s Eve morning

At 12:47 a.m. Sunday morning, a man was found lying in a roadway near the intersection of Skywest Drive and Sueirro Street in Hayward, according to a press release by authorities.

Police found the man — who was suffering from a gunshot wound — unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene, marking the 10th homicide in Hayward this year.

The man’s identity has not yet been released to the public, and authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
