Man shot in Oakland’s Fruitvale district

OAKLAND — A 34-year-old man was shot early Friday in the Fruitvale district, authorities said.

The man was in stable condition at a hospital where he was being treated for a wound to his chest, authorities said.

The man was found shot just before 2 a.m. Friday outside in the 1400 block of 29th Avenue.

Authorities said the man said he was walking when he  heard gunfire and realized he had been shot.

A motive for the shooting is under investigation.  No arrests have been made.
