Officers were called to the 400 block of Kitty Hawk Road just before 9 p.m. for a report of a shooting, according to the Alameda Police Department. They arrived to find multiple members of a family, including children, suffering from gunshot wounds.
“We are deeply saddened to report that three victims did not survive, and additional family members are being treated at local hospitals,” police said in a social media post.
A person of interest is in custody, according to police.
“At this time, there is no information to suggest there is any threat to members of the public,” police said.
