Saratoga mayor to give State of the City address Oct. 5

Mayor Yan Zhao will give her state of the city address on Oct. 5 at 1:30 p.m. in the Joan Pisani Community Center in Saratoga.

In addition to her speech, Zhao will present awards to people and organizations “who make a difference in our community.” The event will also feature refreshments, a dance performance and community resource tables.

Attendees can pre-register for the event at saratoga.ca.us. Admission is free.

10th annual Teal Run set for Sept. 29 at Campbell Park

Saratoga’s annual Halloween parade, the Witchy Walk-A-Bout, is set for Saturday, Oct. 26 from 2 to 4 p.m..

The event in the Saratoga Village will be free to attend and will feature activities for kids. Merchants in the Village will also be distributing candy, and attendees are invited to come in costume.

Hakone tea ceremony

Hakone Estate and Gardens is holding its monthly tea ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 5. Tickets are $10 at hakone.com/events, and admission to the gardens comes at an additional cost for non-members. The ceremony will happen at noon and 1 p.m.
