Check fraud: Someone obtained a check a Saratoga resident used to pay for landscaping services and then altered and cashed the check for a loss of about $1,000.
Public intoxication: At 9 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance call at the Mountain Winery on Pierce Road. An investigation revealed the suspect was unable to care for himself due to being under the influence of alcohol.

Check fraud: Someone obtained a check a Saratoga resident put into outgoing mail at the US Post Office on Allendale Avenue, and then altered and cashed the check for a loss of about $2,200.
DUI, injury hit and run collision, possession of a controlled substance: At 9:10 a.m., deputies responded to an injury hit and run vehicle collision at the intersection of Cox and Saratoga avenues. An investigation revealed the suspect left the scene after the collision. Deputies contacted the suspect and told them to return, which they did. Further investigation revealed the suspect was driving under the influence of drugs and was in possession of heroin, in violation of their probation terms. The suspect was arrested.
Grand theft: At 11:30 p.m., the victim discovered that someone stole a purse and jewelry from their residence in the 18000 block of Vessing Road for a total loss of about $9,500.
Sept. 20
DUI: At 3:44 a.m., deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle call at Quito Road and Westmont Avenue. The vehicle was located running, on the curb, with the motorist asleep in the driver’s seat. An investigation revealed the suspect was driving under the influence of alcohol.
Sept. 21
Petty theft: Between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., someone cut a lock and stole a bicycle from the bike area at Prospect High School on Prospect Road for a total loss valued at approximately $360.
