Man slain in Antioch shooting

ANTIOCH — A 43-year-old man was fatally shot in Antioch Wednesday night, police said.

His name has not yet been released.  Police said he was an Antioch resident.

The shooting happened about 8:18 p.m. in the 900 Block of Fitzuren Road, not far from Highway 4.

Officers found the man with multiple gunshot wounds.  Despite first aid efforts by officers and paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not yet said if the man lived in the area or what the motive was for the shooting.  No arrests have been announced.
