The coroner’s office said he was as Stephen R. Taylor, 66, but that officials could find no permanent address for him.

Police said Taylor was driving a car that crashed into a tree about 11:35 a.m. Dec. 31 in the 1300 block of Marina Village Parkway, near the Posey Tube. He died at the scene.

Investigators were still probing the cause of the collision and are awaiting the results of toxicology tests to determine whether drugs or alcohol were factors, authorities said.

Authorities had earlier said that city staff was also considering any potential safety interventions at the collision site.
