Mountain View basketball player Jayden Minor is the Bay Area News Group’s boys athlete of the week for Jan. 2-6.
Minor finished with 45.69% of the vote. Palo Alto basketball player Jorell Clark took second with 38.93%.

Minor, a 6-foot-5 junior guard, led the way with 22 points as Mountain View improved to 1-1 in Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza Division play with a 73-62 victory over Wilcox. The Spartans improved to 10-4 overall.
