OAKLAND — Police here recently visited the hospital bed of a shooting victim, not to question him about the crime, but to place him under arrest for allegedly robbing a bong shop months earlier.
The 20-year-old Albany resident was arrested at Highland Hospital after being shot by an unknown assailant on Oct. 12. When police in Berkeley learned of the shooting, they came to take him into custody on a pending robbery warrant, court records show.
