Scooter riders found to be DUI after colliding with each other

Oct. 28

2:16 p.m. in the 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue: A woman, 22, and a man stole merchandise from the business and fled the area. Officers located their vehicle, and a search revealed the stolen merchandise. The man was found to have an outstanding warrant for DUI.

12:47 a.m. at Hamilton Avenue and Almarida Drive: The victim pleaded to be let out of the suspect’s car, but he refused to let her go while driving around. He grabbed her wrist and stopped her from calling 911 several times. The suspect finally let the victim go. He was contacted at his home and arrested.

11:40 p.m. in the 600 block of Campbell Avenue: A man, 27, and a woman, 39, were contacted in the park after hours. The man had meth, and the woman had a pipe.

Oct. 29

600 block of East Campbell Avenue: During a physical fight, the suspect cut the victim’s hand with a knife. The suspect threatened the victim and physically restrained her from leaving the scene.

Overnight in the 900 block of Sobrato: A white 2019 Honda Civic was stolen.

Overnight in the 900 block of East Hamilton Avenue: Someone burglarized a business.

400 block of Sobrato: The victim, 30, learned that the suspect, 42, recorded a video of her performing sexual acts without her permission.

3:20 p.m. in the 400 block of West Rincon: During an argument, a woman, 43, threw a glass coffee pot at the victim but missed. She was found to have an outstanding warrant.

8:22 p.m. in the 1400 block of Bent Drive: A woman said that at some point since 2022, her deceased father’s guitar was stolen.

Oct. 30

11:58 a.m. in the 1100 block of West Latimer Avenue: Someone sent the victim multiple texts threatening to kill her if she didn’t send money.

2:05 p.m. in the 400 block of West Hamilton Avenue: A man was repeatedly trying to sneak on to campus and was hiding behind vehicles. He was contacted and fled on foot. He tossed a methamphetamine pipe as he was fleeing, but was apprehended after a foot pursuit. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was transported to the hospital.

Overnight in the 1400 block of Westmont Avenue: Someone forced entry into a garage, but nothing was taken.

4:23 a.m. in the 600 block of East McGlincy Lane: Someone broke into two vehicles on the property.

Oct. 31

9:08 a.m. in the 900 block of West Hamilton Avenue: The suspect, 44, entered the store and stole chicken. Officers identified them from surveillance footage.

9:40 a.m. in the 1600 block of South Bascom Avenue: The suspect, 43, entered a store, stole items and fled in a van. They were later identified.

9:43 a.m. in the 1500 block of South Winchester Boulevard: A man, 32, was = masturbating in the parking lot. HE was still in the parking lot when he was arrested.

Overnight in the 200 block of Budd Avenue: Someone broke into the mailboxes at an apartment complex and stole mail.

2:39 p.m. in the 1600 block of South Bascom Avenue: A woman, 80, was involved in a hit and run collision. She was contacted as she arrived home and was DUI.

3:06 p.m. at East Hamilton and Salmar avenues: Two suspects were stopped for a vehicle code violation. One had a warrant, and the other was in possession of methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe.

6:44 p.m. at Redding and White Oaks roads: A man, 57, was passed out on a sidewalk and was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself.

12:59 a.m. at South Winchester Boulevard and Latimer Avenue: Two suspects were riding electric scooters when they collided with each other. They were both found to have been operating their scooters while under the influence of alcoholic beverages and were arrested.

Nov. 1

12:10 a.m. at Nido Drive and Adler Avenue: Someone collided into a parked vehicle and fled without exchanging information. They were seen driving a gray Honda Odyssey with a partial plate.

12:58 a.m. in the 700 block of Union Avenue: A man, 67, was found in the backyard of a residence and was arrested.

1:20 a.m. in the 1900 block of South Bascom Avenue: FLOCK cameras alerted that a gold Honda Accord reported stolen out of San Jose was at the intersection of South Bascom Avenue and Southwest Expressway. The Honda was located, and the driver showed officers numerous text messages showing that the registered owner had given him permission to have the vehicle. When confronted about the text messages, the owner admitted she had lent the driver the vehicle and that she had reported it stolen when they did not return it.

12:05 p.m. in the 900 block of West Hamilton Avenue: Someone used someone else’s credit card to make fraudulent purchases.

2:54 p.m. in the 2300 block of South Winchester Boulevard: A man was contacted after stealing then damaging vehicles on Nido Drive. He threw a bag of items at an officer.

Overnight in the 1000 block of Erin Way: A blue 2001 Ford F250 was stolen.

8:44 a.m. in the 1700 block of South Bascom Avenue: A man, 41, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance.

Overnight in the 400 block of Dallas Drive: A white 2004 GMC C2500HD was stolen.

Overnight in the 200 block of Sunnyside Avenue: A white 2005 Ford F350 was stolen.

12:14 p.m. in the 1600 block of West Campbell Avenue: A woman, 49, was contacted after reportedly stealing items. She lied about her name because she had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

3:01 p.m. in the 2500 block of Winchester Boulevard: Someone attempted to cash a fraudulent check in Gilroy belonging a Campbell business.

4:23 p.m. at Nido Drive and Budd Avenue: During an argument, a man, 21, drove his vehicle into the victim and fled the scene. He later returned to the scene and was arrested.

Nov. 2

6:03 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Bascom Avenue: A woman, 39, was found to be too intoxicated to care for herself and was arrested.

Midnight at South Winchester Boulevard and Latimer Avenue: A woman, 30, was found to be DUI and was placed under arrest.

12:44 a.m. in the 2300 block of South Winchester Boulevard: A man, 50, was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was placed under arrest.

1:39 a.m. at Camden and Curtner avenues: A man, 31, collided with a vehicle and fled the scene. Minutes later, he collided with a second vehicle, disabling his vehicle. He was found to be DUI.

4:15 a.m. in the 300 block of East McGlincy Lane: Three suspects broke into two work vehicles and stole items. They then entered a business and stole additional items.

Nov. 3

5:03 a.m. in the 1800 block of South Bascom Avenue: Someone slashed three of the tires on a vehicle.

Overnight in the 1100 block of Shamrock Drive: A vehicle was vandalized.

300 block of Century Drive: A residence was burglarized after entry was made via rear slider door.
