ANTIOCH — A man shot to death last week has been identified by authorities.

Oakland: Person shot and killed in city’s 6th homicide of 2024

Antioch police officers found 43-year-old Junior Rospigliosi, a resident of the city, down with multiple gunshot wounds when they responded to the 900 block of Fitzuren Road about 8:18 p.m. Jan. 10, Lt. Rick Martin said in a statement. Rospigliosi died at the scene.

The Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office released his identity Monday.

Antioch police have not announced any suspect or possible motive information. They did not respond to a call for more information Monday

The homicide was the first killing in Antioch in 2024. Police investigated 11 homicides in the city in 2023.
