According to police, the vehicle ran off northbound Carlson Boulevard near Florida Avenue about 7:15 a.m. on Jan. 12, and hit at least one tree in the center median. Authorities said 18-year-old Rosa Herrera, of Richmond, and 21-year-old Elijah Thomasson, of Berkeley, died at the scene.

Police have not said who was driving and added that toxicology tests will determine whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the wreck.
