LOS ALTOS — Police on Thursday provided an update on their investigation into the deaths of two people at a home in Los Altos earlier this week, but many questions remained unanswered.

Man dies of injuries suffered in San Jose shooting last fall

The bodies belonged to a man and a woman, the Los Altos Police Department said in the update.

The deaths also happened shortly before 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, when officers went to the home in the 200 block of West Edith Avenue to do a welfare check, according to police.

The cause of death is still under investigation, and neither the man nor the woman has been identified.

The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office is expected to release the identities of both individuals once they are confirmed and their next of kin is notified.

The incident is not related to any missing person cases in the region and there is no threat to public safety, according to police.
