OAKLAND — A 22-year-old man was fatally shot Monday morning in West Oakland, authorities said.
The man’s name was not immediately release pending confirmation of his identity and notification of his next of kin.
Police said he lived in the area of the shooting.

The shooting was reported about 7:29 a.m. in the 2000 block of Myrtle Street. The man was found outside with at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A motive for the killing was still under investigation. No arrests were announced.
It is the 8th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. At this time last year there had been 6 homicides.
