GILROY – An investigation is underway into a shooting Monday morning at a home in Gilroy, police said.

The incident was reported around 11:40 a.m. in the 2100 block of Periwinkle Drive, according to the Gilroy Police Department. The suspects were gone by the time officers arrived.
Police said an investigation revealed two suspects had entered the home and been confronted by the residents. A struggle ensued and one of the suspects fired at least one shot.
No one was hit by the gunfire, but at least one resident was injured as a result of the struggle, according to police. The resident was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The suspects were last seen leaving the neighborhood in a light-colored sport utility vehicle.
