SAN JOSE – A person was injured in a shooting Monday morning in San Jose’s Burbank neighborhood, authorities said.

The shooting happened around 8 a.m. in the 500 block of Laswell Avenue, near Parkmoor Avenue, Santa Clara County sheriff’s spokesperson Brooks Jarosz said in a news release.

The victim was taken to a hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, Jarosz said.

No arrests had been made as of 3:45 p.m. Monday.

The sheriff’s office did not release a suspect description or a possible motive for the shooting.

Jarosz said the sheriff’s office believes the victim was targeted and “there is no threat or immediate danger to the community.”
