Three East Bay men arrested in Vacaville after fraud check transaction failed

Three people were arrested in Vacaville last week after attempting to cash a fraudulent check at an area bank.

Oakland resident Keith Martin, 45, was arrested on Feb. 7 for trying to cash fraudulent checks — one for $1,200 earlier in the day at a nearby branch.

Martin was located by police in a car leaving the area, along with two other individuals, Genaro Famarin, 44, and Jeremy Ashworth, 47 – both residents of Oakland.

All three were arrested for check fraud. Martin and Famarin were booked into the Solano County Jail on suspicion of multiple felony charges, including making factitious checks with the intent to defraud and criminal conspiracy while Ashworth was just booked on suspicion of criminal conspiracy. Bail for all three suspects was set at $25,000.
