Pedestrian, 91, killed in East Bay traffic collision

HAYWARD — A 91-year-old man died last Thursday when he was hit by a vehicle while crossing a street, authorities said.

He was identified Tuesday by the coroner’s bureau as Victor Alishoyev, a resident of a Hayward senior living community.

He was struck by a vehicle about 7:46 a.m. Feb. 8 at the intersection of Hesperian Boulevard and Bartlett Avenue, not far from where he lived, authorities said.

Alishoyev was found unresponsive in the street. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Police said the 61-year-old man driving the vehicle that hit him remained at the scene and has been cooperating with investigators. He was not injured.

Police said it is not believed drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision.

The police investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about what happened is asked to call the Hayward Police Department’s traffic bureau at 510-293-7066.
