Latest San Jose pedestrian death involved driver backing out of driveway

The fatal crash happened just before 10:45 a.m. on southbound Foothill Expressway, near Old Oak Court, the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The adult female bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

The county Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release her identity once it is confirmed and her next of kin is notified.

The Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Specialist Team is investigating the crash due to its severity.

Additional details about the collision were not immediately available Tuesday night.
