The scheduled closure of southbound Interstate 680 in Pleasanton between the I-580 and I-680 connector and Koopman Road no longer will take place. The stretch of freeway was expected to be closed beginning at 9 p.m. Thursday and run through the President’s Day weekend until 4 a.m. Tuesday.
Caltrans said it will reschedule the work and notify the public well in advance of when it will take place.
The work is needed to replace a portion of deteriorated roadway on southbound I-680 with new pavement, according to the agency. Caltrans said they remain ahead of schedule on completing the project despite the delay.
