Fire crews were notified about 11 a.m. that a body had been found near the docks in the Estuary close to 5th Avenue Marina and Embarcadero, according to Oakland Fire Department spokesperson Michael Hunt. He added that call came from the harbor master.

Authorities believe the man was between his 40s and 50s and said that he was fully clothed with no signs of major trauma when found, according to Hunt.

An autopsy by the Alameda County Coroner’s Office may reveal more. The body had begun to decompose, Hunt said.
