The new policy will go into effect for all 6th through 12th-grade classes in Dublin next year. Some parents and teachers worry the changes will encourage students to slack off and leave them unprepared for college.
"There have been eras when society is more tolerant of these forms of expression, and times where tolerance seems to wane a bit, and we may be in one of those periods now," said SJSU political science Professor Emeritus Larry Gerston.
