U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers gave the federal prisons bureau two days to plead its case after an inmate appeared to have been transferred in apparent violation of her orders.
Angel Ahilion-Garcia, 23, was arrested in the December 2020 killing of Edgar Pablo-Ramirez, 17, who was allegedly vandalizing a vehicle when he was fatally shot.
As they have with all of his cases, Trump's lawyers vigorously argued to delay the proceedings, citing the political calendar and Trump's other cases, including one in Washington over his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election that is effectively on hold pending the outcome of an appeal.
