New Jersey man pleads guilty to involuntary manslaughter in Pennsylvania cold case

A New Jersey man is set to be sentenced after pleading guilty in the two-decade-old death of a teenager in Pennsylvania. PennLive reported that 46-year-old Brian Gregory Quinn of Woodbury, New Jersey, entered the involuntary manslaughter plea Friday in Columbia County Court in Pennsylvania. Quinn had been awaiting trial on a homicide charge in the January 2001 death of 17-year-old Shamar Washington of Williamsport. Authorities say hunters found Washington’s body shortly after he died and that he was without identification, shoes or a jacket in a rural part of Hemlock Township outside Bloomsburg. Assistant District Attorney Rebecca Reimiller called Quinn’s actions “reckless and grossly negligent.”
